Abnormal accumulations of triacylglycerides within paranchymal cells.
Seen in liver mostly, heart, and kidneys
How does Steatosis appear morphologically?
Cleared vacuoles within parenchymal cells, stained in orange-red colour using Sudan IV or Oil Red-O stains. The vacuoles displace the nucleus to the peripheral margins of the cell.

For some enzyme involved in cholesterol trafficking is mutated (Lysosomal storage disease)
