Laboratory- ACH

The laboratory has a lot of sections there are
-Reception -Blood bank -Hormones
- Parasitology -Histopathology -Biochemistry
- Hematology -Microbiology

1-Reception
It's the places that collects test samples (blood, urine.C.S.F, tissue, B.M, stool, semen) from the patients and send the request result .it has two sections for male & female.
There is a room if we want to take blood from the patient that has tubes which is require to the test.
There are 3 kinds of tubes:
1-Edeta tube (contain anticoagulant)
2-Plane tube
3-Na statutric tube


2-Blood Bank ...
First we found the reception which the donor go first they take from hem/here information I.D card weigh, tall, blood pressure. After that they took blood sample and do some imp. Test (e.g. blood group, H.B, HIV, etc).
If the donor is healthy they enter to a room for blood collecting, let him lay in comfort bed and take the blood. To do that we need blood bags (3 of them the first for hall blood second for platlet & third for plasma) pot it in to machine that shake the blood slowly to it don’t coagulant.
After that they take the bags put it in refrigerator until need for it. When we need they have to make mismatch test between the blood donor & receptor.
There is a machine called CRIOFUGE that separate plasma from the cells.

3-Hormone …
In this section they take the serum and put it in machine called ELECSYS and will give you the reading about each hormone in the body. The blood which receive in plan tube.

4-Histopathology …
This section consists of two parts:
1-prepation section: to prepare the samples that’s done by tiqnetion.
2-raedind and diagnosing the sample that’s done by pathologist.
The sample which receive (tissue) taken by biopsy or fin needle aspiration and save it in formalin.

5-Parasitology …
for detect parasite that present in the stool by using microscope.

6-Biochemistry …
There are a lot of tests that we can do it in this section by help with some device. E.g. CENTERFUGE which separate serum.
DIMENSION-CUBES these machines do all the test and print it (e.g. LFT, KFT…).
FLAM PHOTOMETER for measure Na/K.
H.B ELECTROPHRESIS for H.b. type and to detect some disease (anemia, thalasimia…).


7-Hematology …

There is L.H. machine can give you reading in 15 second (e.g. WBC, RBC, MCV…etc). Other device called B.C.T concerned to bleeding, coagulation and its disorder. There is a section that deals with B.M disease.

8-Microbiology …
culture & routine culture.
This department divided in to some sections:
1-bacteria >> culture the bacteria to identify it and give the right antibiotic to it.
2-virology >> deal with all types of viruses that is present in the sample.
3-serology >> disease which fond in the serum.
4-immuno >> detection of Ag which cause Ab to produced.
